FISHING REPORT JAN 23rd 2015

Mostly cloudy this Friday, high about 47 with a significant chance of rain tonight and tomorrow. Winds NE 10-15 clocking E then S later and building causing a high surf advisory with seas 8-12 feet overnight. Sunset at 5:19 PM, sunrise tomorrow at 7:09 AM. First tide for Jennettes pier is a low at 3:06 AM with the high at 9:13 AM. Second tide is low at 3:40 PM followed with a high at 9:42 PM. Water temp at Duck pier mucho frio @ 43 degrees this morning.
If the surf temps are really in the low 40s, many fish won’t feed. It is unclear if it is too cold for digestion to occur or it just takes too much energy for a fish to actively hunt prey. Thoughts?? At any rate, there have been no recent reports on the northern beaches lately and with the weather forecast for the weekend I’m not hopeful. Good luck
